HILARY MOLLOY
Hilary Molloy is an established
wildlife and landscape artist. A native of Limerick Hilary spends much of
her time in north Clare where she gets much of her inspiration. This exhibition
is the result of her time spent around New Quay, her many strolls on the Flaggy
Shore with the unique landscape that surrounds it which provide an endless
source of material for her work.
The haunting stillness of the evenings and the miraculous sunsets, the amazing
light and dramatic skies, the coming and going of the tides and the fish that
they bring, ducks and geese in flight are familiar themes in her work and
truly found their best expression in this exhibition.
The hues and tones of the landscape, the flap of a tern wing, the excitement
of the water when the mackerel come in, are successfully captures in Hilary's
paintings.
This is the show that discloses the full maturity of Hilary's work, capturing
the mood, the atmosphere and the magic of the place that is close to her heart,
the true forms and movement of her subjects.
Self taught, Hilary's work is regularly exhibited in many galleries around
the country. She has had 4 solo exhibitions to date in Galway, Cork and Limerick.
