Joe Jordan took early retirement from his work as a radio officer with the Irish Aviation Authority in 2001. This enabled him to concentrate more on his abiding interest in watercolour painting, which began years ago when he first saw a west of Ireland watercolour by Percy French. He began painting with oils but was always intrigued by the fluidity and directness of the watercolour medium. Joe`s interests lie mainly in landscapes of the west of Ireland and north Clare, and would by influenced by such painters as John Singer Sargent and Aubrey Phillips. Joe does all his own framing and paints on location whenever possible. He is married to Irene and has three grown up children and lives in Ennis Co. Clare.
