Born in 1939 in Italy, Laura studied Art at the renown Academy of Brera in Milan before moving to Galway in 1967. Since then she has been working as a lecturer in Art History and Italian Literature at the University College of Galway and retired in 2001.
Literature, poetry alongside paintings, etchings and graphics have been the central focus of research and passion throughout the long career of this talented and resourceful woman.
Her first solo exhibition of paintings was in 1967 in Novi Ligure (Italy) ,and in the same year also a series of her engravings were presented at the Biennale of Milan. She started exhibiting in Ireland, in Kenny's in 1971 and then Cork, Limerick, Dublin and England.
In the seventies was a Co-founder of 'Graphica 2 Ireland' and 'Galway art groups' and exhibited her work during the very first two art festivals in Galway;
She then continued her academic work and the collaboration with artists and writers holding conferences and exhibitions. She also published her lyrics in 1995.
Today, the key point of her investigation has become clear and revolves around the links between Literature, Poetry and Art.
